FR-5 is a wedge that meets the practical demands of veteran players.
The FR-5 was developed from the practical needs of players who want to be able to easily get close to the pin even in high-pressure situations, a similar development process as the previous RM-α model.
Tour models have the advantage of allowing players to fully utilize their technique, but their precise performance can become a weakness in pressure situations or under bad lie conditions.
The concept of the FR-5 is all-around performance that allows players to play efficiently and stress-free in such situations.
One of the target players for the FR-5 is Jun Ikeda (Fourteen’s Planning Department), who has participated in the Japan Amateur Championship multiple times and is also the planner of the RM-α.
His many experiences with pressure-filled situations are the basis for creating an all-around performance wedge.
The essence of the FR-5 is the forgiveness that can be demonstrated in actual play.

The all-around performance wedge, FR-5
The FR-5 is the successor to the RM-α, released overseas in March 2023.
The FR-5 aims to be an intermediate model between the FRZ, which pursues controllability, and the FR-3, which has an automatic function.
The FR5 offers versatility and all-around performance that can meet the needs of most golfers.
A high-performance sole that blends forgiveness with the ability to enhance a player's technique.
Fourteen's signature sole technology is an all-around sole that brings ease of use to players, and has been adopted in wedges since DJ-5 model released in 2021.
The rounded area of the leading edge, which is the key to its ease of use, provides tolerance for contact with the ball in various conditions.
In addition, the all-around sole design provides optimal bounce performance and outstanding follow-through with forgiveness.
The neck shape is carefully designed to provide a comfortable address
The semi-gooseneck allows the clubhead to square more easily to the ball.
However, for players who have been accustomed to playing with straight-neck wedges, the gooseneck can be an uncomfortable feeling at address.
To eliminate this visual discomfort, the neck shape is designed with a slight curve from the top to the bottom so that it appears straighter than the actual offset
