Developing the most forgiving one-piece forged iron in golf

A one-piece forged iron that's even more forgiving than the TB-5 FORGED iron. When the Planning Department gave the Development Department the mission, I truly felt that I wanted to create the most forgiving forged iron in golf.

The TB-5 FORGED is an iron that epitomizes "ultimate forgiveness," so we felt that surpassing it would naturally mean becoming the "best in golf".

The challenge was that it had to have an once-piece, forged soft steel iron construction. And what made this possible was Fourteen's unique back face structure, "Theatre Blade."

Achieving both a larger and lighter head

TB-3 FORGED Development Basis:

Based on the design of the original TB-5 FORGED, a masterpiece of forgiving irons,
- Enlarging the head for even greater forgiveness
- Reducing the head weight for even easier swinging

In order to avoid sacrificing a soft feel, we spent an extensive amount of time in the development process to achieve the contradictory elements of enlarging and reducing the head weight while maintaining the one-piece soft-steel forged iron structure.

Compared to the TB-5 FORGED, 4g lighter and slightly larger head

In developing the most forgiving one-piece soft steel forged iron, the most difficult challenge was developing the head even lighter and larger.
The unique Theatre Blade shape was retained to design every part thinner.
The Theatre Blade, which curves from toe to heel, has its thickest parts (toe and heel) and the boundary between the sole and the head been shaved down to the limit, resulting in a significant weight reduction.

The softest feel in the TB series

During the development of the TB series, extensive research was conducted into the changes in feel that the Theatre Blade shape affects.

We focused on the difference between the multifaceted and curved shapes of the back face.
The TB-3 FORGED's multifaceted Theatre Blade shape effectively reduces vibration at impact, reducing uncomfortable hitting sounds and providing a softer feel.

Deeper CG Depth

The long and middle irons have a deeper CG depth, making it easier to hit high trajectories.

Smooth swing and increased speed for greater distance

The FT-70i shaft maximizes the potential of the TB-3 FORGED.
The FT-70i carbon shaft takes advantage of the lightweight head, and its 0.25-inch longer length increases head speed, resulting in a higher trajectory and increased distance.

Wider TB Series Options

The first-generation "TB-5 FORGED" (2020),
an one-piece soft steel forged iron with a forgiving feel, was well-received by a wide range of golfers.

The second-generation "TB-5 FORGED" (2024) has a slightly sharper shape, evolving to provide a forgiving feel that satisfies the athletic mindset.

The TB-3 FORGED is designed to be the most forgiving iron in the TB series.
